What do I have to do after changing the Password for the MAPI-Account (Microsoft Exchange 2016)?

Scenario:

For connecting to Exchange 2016 you need to install Microsoft Outlook 2016 32-bit on the XPhone Connect Server machine. The Windows password for the MAPI-account, which is used for the XPhone Connect Server service, was changed.

After changing the password, follow these steps on the XPhone Connect Server:

- Log on to the XPhone Connect Server machine with the MAPI-account
- Stop the XPhone Connect Server service using the XPhone Connect Server Manager
- Change the service account to "localhost"
- Start the XPhone Connect Server service
- Change the service account back to the MAPI-account and enter the new password
- Start the Outlook client
- Outlook will ask for the new password. Make sure Outlook works without any issues. We recommend to restart Outlook, to verify that you are not prompted to enter the password again
- Exit the Outlook client
- Restart the XPhone Connect Server service
